The 10th Annual lectureship and celebration was held on September 28, 2009 and was presented by: Ben Rich, JD, PhD, Professor and Chair, Ethics Department University of California Davis School of Medicine Dr. Rich presented on “Palliative Care Education and the Culpability of Cultivated Ignorance” This lectureship was preceded by short presentations from three patients suffering from chronic pain focusing on the effects of pain on their life, and included presentations from 3 healthcare professional students about their educational experience in Pain Medicine. Dr. Rich’s lecture was followed by a Roundtable discussion with members of the Medical Board of Ohio and academic leaders in Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy on Pain Education. Dr. Amy Pope - Harman served as moderator.
